Magic trick assignment
Kobe Van Herwegen, a magician in Belgium, gives us an assignment to make a magic trick. A few tips that he give us: everything is possible, go not to extreem but small, work out mechanics and/or think about something completely new, and the combination of your trick and show is important!
We had to pick a card so that we knew what sort of magic trick we had to make (diamonds: disappearance / appearance; spades: transformation; Hearts: Breaking + Restoring: Clover: Exchange). I had spades so I had to do a transformation. I read a lot of books about magic, practiced a few tricks and watch on youtube to David Copperfield, Dynamo etc. to get a global view on existing magic tricks and shows. Also films like 'Now You See Me' (trailer) are inspirational. I also went to a magic contest: Belgian Magic Federation Festival (2015, Vilvoorde).
I wanted to do something with animals, because I love them they are cute and kids love them. So I used my little Russian dwarf hamster Willie Poetin. I want to make the hamster appear and let another object(s) disappear (so I change an object in Willie Poetin), but how will I explain in the next sketches, photos and text. :)

Who? Willie Poetin, my Russian dwarf hamster.
What? Let him appearing
When? When the cloth is over the table and when another object disappears, during the magic trick. Every time I do the magic trick.
Why? Because I have to work round transformation, I will change an object into Willie and vice versa. It's fun to work with animals (without discomforting the animals).
Where? Kortrijk, IDC building, while performing (show).
How? Out of a table, that I made by myself.

Feedback from Kobe Van Herwegen:
The previeus image was send to Kobe and he said that when you work with a cloth over the table the spectators will know that its under the cloth.
So with that said I have to do the magic trick with a table without a cloth.

I used an old table from a recycling shop.
When the table is almost finished:
First hole: A object (I will use a ping pong ball) will jump out trough a self made spring:
Second hole: a little bag will pushed up when you pull on the middle lat. In that bag will sit the hamster Willie.
Third hole: A object (I will use little Christmas balls, because the show was in december 2015) will disappear, quietly (because it land on a fleece textiel).
How will the show go? (script)
(( max 5min. before the trick I put Willie in the table, the spectators are not there yet ))
- I will introduce myself.
- I will tell what I will do: I will transform a Christmas ball into a dwarf hamster.
- I will practice the spell Ailam Ilim, Knagi Inim, Wissam Imim with the kids.
- I let a kid choose a Christmas ball and lay it on the table (on the spot where the third hole is)
- I will put a empty box (after showing the spectators) on the table, and put a cloth on it.
- together spelling the spell Ailam Ilim, Knagi Inim, Wissam Imim
(( I pull on the third lat (so the Christmas ball disappear) and on the first lat (so the ping pong ball will appear) ))
- I do the box and cloth away and everyone sees that the Christmas ball is changed in a ping pong ball.
- I say that something must be wrong and that we will try it again.
- I let a other kid choose a Christmas ball and lay it on the table (on the spot where the third hole is)
- I will put again the empty box (after showing the spectators again) on the table, and put a cloth on it.
- together spelling the spell Ailam Ilim, Knagi Inim, Wissam Imim (but firmly and louder)
I pull on the third lat (so the Christmas ball disappear) and on the second lat (so little Willie will come out the hole) ))
- I do the box and cloth away and everyone sees that there is now a hamster instead of a Christmas ball on the table.
- I congratulate everyone. And thank them while I put Willie in his cage.
